Welcome to the first Working Mum Club (WMC) interview series in 2018. The WMC features a working mum in a bid to find out more about them and how they balance work and family life. If you are a working mum and would like to take part in this series, kindly send an email to

In this WMC interview series, we meet the lovely, fun, vibrant , positive minded, and industrious mom of 3 children, Glory. Glory is a wife and mom of 3 – 1 girl and 2 boys. She currently works in Client Services within the transport industry (Transport for London) as well has running her own Events management company called Anatyler Events. My first impression when I met Glory few years ago was how full of energy and hard-working she is. She is clearly a SUPER BOSS MOM!

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a 26 year old wife and mom of 3 children under 10. My first child is Tyler who is 5 (soon to be 6), my second is Anaya (the only girl) who is 3 and my last baby who is Isaiah aged 7 months. I am married to my amazing hubby Arthur, also young aged 30.  Arthur and I both work for the same company, he works in the Compliance department whilst I work in Client services.

What is your current role and what does it entail?

I currently work in the transport Industry in client services. I also own an events company which is 3 years old and currently rebranding. I have embarked on a journey in blogging too! So you could say my hands are stretched.

What does motherhood mean to you?
Motherhood for me started unexpectedly when I was 20. I had my first son, then it was much easier to cope and do things working around one schedule. After having the last two it’s a bit more challenging but I would not change a thing. I love being a mom, it’s funny because I can’t imagine my life any other way anymore.

What has been one of your biggest career challenge and how did you overcome it?

My biggest career challenge was having to change my career from fashion to Corporate. I mean I am very passionate about fashion and I love the industry but, it is not a mommy friendly career. I love spending time with my children so it was the smartest idea and I must say am loving it!!

How do you balance work and family life?
I put family as my priority, I make sure we have time for each other on a daily. I read with my kids and try to include them In chores around the house, it becomes a family activity. With daddy we always have 1 weekend of his busy schedule to do things as a family, apart from being at church on Sundays. When I’m working I also give that my 100%. Separating work from home is best.

What is your biggest frustration as a working mum?

I think maternity leave should be extended so that our children can have the best of us. However, I am pretty pleased with my maternity leave. Sometimes I wake up and think I can’t go back to work. I love being at home with them. I guess that most working moms have this dilemma.

What is your top tip for childcare arrangements?

I think it’s hard to leave you children with anyone without having anxiety because we all parent different. However I work around my family, we all very close to each other and my inlaws are the best!!! They are always available to help with the kids each of time. For example when I recently went out on a girls night two weekends in a row, there was no hesitation- babies were sorted. So I think if it’s possible use family and if not, try and find a very trust worthy registered individual with good recommendations.

What advice would you give new mums looking to return back to work after a long break?

I would say have your diary and reminder app close to you. Here are some quick tips:

  1. You don’t want to overwhelm yourself thinking your superwoman, we all need stability and time for yourself. So take note of your monthly schedule (which may change).
  2. Ensure that you agree with your work place to adjust your work pattern if required.
  3. Enjoy every moment as you know they got up to fast!

What is your favourite gadget or app for productivity?

I love snapchat and my favourite tool is spread sheet it helps balance my finances.

Tell us a random fact abut you.
Well I am mixed nationality 4 in total Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola and South Africa, but I was born in Zambia and raised in South Africa.

Follow Glory’s business page ‘Anatyler Events’ on Instagram and Facebook and contact her if you need someone to plan and manage your events- weddings, birthday parties, baby shower etc. I can personally vouch for the quality of her services!

It is always encouraging to know we mums face similar challenges and we’re not alone in this motherhood journey. I could easily relate to Glory’s highs and lows with trying to juggle work and family. Besides, I still stand by saying anyone that has any woman who has more than 2 kids and works as well is SUPER HUMAN. Hats off!!!
